Several FAO members went to the world junior trials including CJO members Ali Hill, Ian Coombe, Noah Shedroff and current USOTC RAs Sean and Daniel McLaughlin and CFA’s Kelsey Taylor
Daniel qualified 3rd and Sean 4th in the 144 arrow one day FITA thus making the Monday WJT round robins. Noah Shedroff was two places out of the cut at 10th
Daniel, Sean, Ali and Kelsey also shot in the USAT ranking round eliminations on Sunday. Daniel made it all the way to the finals losing to US #1 Brady Ellison in a field that included all three current world team members along with alternate Daniel, and former olympic medalists Butch Johnson and Vic Wunderle.
Sean reached the quarters-his first time in a senior USAT quarters
On Monday it was even more exciting as Daniel went 6-1 and Sean lost only to the archer who beat his brother (RA Jeremiah Cusick) and his brother. Both earned places on the team
Toledo resident Jamie Van Natta won the ladies compound gold over Erika Jones, whose parents live in the Hamilton, Ohio area. Alex Wifler-who has attended a couple Ohio State Tournaments, was US #1 recurve junior last year but he broke his hand recently. No problem-he went back to compound and earned a third place finish in the trials and a trip to China with the twins.
